Mariesii or Doublefile Viburnum is very attractive and has a distinct appearance in the landscape. Every spring creamy white flowers appear and have the distinct look of being layered across the top of the horizontal branches. The flowers are excellent butterfly attractors, and eventually turn into red berries that ripen to black in the fall. Each fall the dark green leaves become a striking reddish purple color, continuing the wonderful display of this great viburnum. It has a great spreading growth habit and can reach up to 10 ft. tall making it a wonderful choice for a truly decorative hedge row.
